Regcity Privacy Policy
Regcity — core of privacy and protectionThis Privacy Policy explains what personal data regcity (regcity.net) collects, why, who we share it with and what rights you have. It applies to the website, the client area, the API and all domain services.
1. Data we collect
Account data — name, email address, phone number, postal address, company name and any other details you enter in your profile.
Domain contact data — the registrant and other contacts you set for your domains. The Registrar and Registries require this data for every domain.
Order and payment data — your orders, invoices, account balance and payment history. Payments are made in cryptocurrency through a payment processor. We receive the amount, currency and transaction reference; we do not receive or store your wallet's private keys.
Support data — the content of tickets and messages you send us.
Technical data — IP address, browser type, the time of requests and actions in your account, and API requests. We use it for security, fraud prevention and troubleshooting.
We do not collect special categories of data (such as health or political views), and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
2. Why we use it
- To register, renew, transfer and manage your domains — required to provide the service you order.
- To run your account, issue invoices and process payments and refunds.
- To answer support requests and send you service messages: invoices, renewal reminders, security and verification notices.
- To protect the service and our customers: preventing fraud, abuse and unauthorised access.
- To meet legal obligations and the requirements of the Registrar, Registries and ICANN.
We do not use your data for advertising and do not sell it.
3. Who we share it with
- The Registrar that sponsors each domain (one of the ICANN-accredited registrars we work with) and the Registry for its extension receive your domain contact data. This is required to register a domain.
- Public registration data (WHOIS/RDAP). All domains are registered with the Registrar's privacy service where the Registry allows it, so the privacy service's details are shown publicly instead of yours. Some extensions do not allow privacy, and some Registries publish or disclose contact data under their own rules.
- Payment processors, to process your payments.
- Hosting and network providers, including Cloudflare, which carry traffic to our website and protect it from attacks.
- Authorities, courts and rights holders, when we are legally required to, or when a Registry, the Registrar or ICANN policy requires disclosure (for example, in an abuse or UDRP case).
Some of these recipients are located outside your country. By using the Services you understand that your data will be processed in the countries where they operate.
4. Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work: to keep you signed in, remember your language and protect forms against forgery. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not use third-party trackers.
5. How long we keep it
- Account and order data: while your account is open, and afterwards for as long as needed for accounting, tax, and dispute purposes.
- Domain contact data: for the life of each registration and for the period the Registrar and ICANN require afterwards (currently up to two years).
- Technical logs: for a limited period for security, then deleted.
- Support tickets: while your account is open.
6. Security
Access to the client area and the API is protected by passwords and API keys and served over encrypted connections. Access to customer data is limited to what is needed to run the service. No system is completely secure; tell us immediately at support@regcity.net if you think your account has been compromised.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data (you can edit most of it yourself in the client area);
- ask us to delete your data;
- object to or restrict some processing;
- receive your data in a portable format.
Some data cannot be deleted while you have active domains, because the Registrar and Registry must hold the registrant's details, or while we must keep it by law. To make a request, email support@regcity.net from your account's email address or open a support ticket. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes will be announced in the client area or by email.
